Joann. S O’Callaghan

Joann Susan O’Callaghan (Hain), 75, of Winter Haven, FL, formerly of Moline, IL, passed away peacefully Sunday May 24th, 2026, at her home. A celebration of life will be June 28th at American Legion Post #8 in Winter Haven, FL. A celebration of life will be held on July 19th, 2026, at American Legion Post #227 in East Moline, IL. She will be interned at the Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery.

Joann was born March 16th, 1951, in Wilton, IA, the daughter of Paul and AnnaMae Hain. She was raised in Wilton, IA and graduated from Wilton High School.

Joann is survived by her loving husband, Michael O’Callaghan, two sons, Dennis (Victoria) Long, and David (Shannon) Long, two stepchildren Shawn O’Callaghan and Tonya (Matt) Sanquist, grandchildren Karma and Dylan Long, Nicole Fountain, Ashley Dent, and Alexis O’Callaghan and siblings, Paul “Butch” (Sylvia) Hain, Grace Wiese, Mary Lou (Steve) Lowenberg.

Joann drove dump trucks with Mike for their company until retirement. She enjoyed riding Harley’s and bird watching. As a member of the American Legion Post 8 Auxiliary since 2007, she dedicated her time to bettering the Post and its members. She was a staunch advocate for raising money for cancer, the boys and girls state program, and many other wonderful program
